Youth Group European "Dress Rehearsal" on July 9th......All are invited!!! Akron German Family Society

All are invited to the "Dress Rehearsal" of the Youth Group's European 2016 Summer dance and singing tour!!!

The Youth Group has practiced for hours upon hours, week after week for over 5 years, with the purpose of perfecting and honing the dances and singing performances in preparation for their trip to Germany this summer.
With great pride and joy, the Youth Group invites everyone to attend their "Dress Rehearsal" on Saturday July 9th at 6PM. This is "YOUR" chance to see this amazing group perform the very same performances that will presented throughout Germany and the surrounding areas.
Bring your family and friends to enjoy this special evening dress rehearsal!!!

***This is free and no reservations are necessary. No dinner will be provided, however many members plan to bring appetizers to share with all those attending. The bar will be available on this event.
Carri and Steve Sensius lead the Youth Group and they personally invite you and your friends to attend!
Carri added, "The dances will include traditional Hungarian dances such as Oberkreiner, Schoen ist Musikant, Bayrischer Landler, and never performed by this group Berg Vagenunden.
We will perform many of our Youth Group traditional fold dances including Saurekraut Polka, Das Fenster, Sauerlandler Quadrill, and Echt Tirolerisch along with 2 new dances choreographed by our own Youth group members. We will add a few traditional Donauschwaben songs as well."

We will perform our Schuplattlers mixed with the Bayrischer Polka Flier and Village Inn Polka Flier and we have a brand new American set where we will share three  dances expressing traditional American choreography.
With heartfelt words, Carri went on to say, "When I watch this group perform all I can do is smile, and I cry too!  These kids have worked so hard for the past year and a half.  It is amazing to see them grow not only in dance but in friendship.  What use to be several small sub-groups is now one blended group of amazing young people.  Our Veteran members have welcomed the new members without hesitation and have taught them everything they know.  Our older dancers continue to share new ideas with us to create new dances which keeps the group alive.
I love the American dance set because it really allows each dancer to express themselves differently.  The choreography is the same but each dancer adds personal touch and dynamics that make these dances original.  Steve and I are so proud of this group.  We are blessed to know these dancers and their families.

We want to thank the families of these dancers for sharing your kids with us every week.  The past year has been fun, exciting, and memorable.  We look forward to sharing in a trip of a lifetime with these kids.  We appreciate all of the help and support of the group throughout the past years which helped us get to Europe.  Please support the group by attending this performance.  They are really looking forward to showing off their stuff!"
Thank you to Carri and Steve Sensius, Dave and Silvana Sensius who will be chaperoning, as well as Michael Rodesheim who has been the liaison and organizer of the Germany trip. They each have devoted many hours to this trip and to the kids!
