Weihnachts Programm "Christmas Program 2016".....Akron German Family Society

The Weihnachts Programm  "Christmas program" was celebrated with a packed house on the afternoon of Sunday Dec. 4th!
The inside hall was decorated beautifully with garland, lights, and at "center stage" our beautiful Christmas tree! Rudy Stagl, our GFS president, welcomed everyone and shared special Christmas and New Year's wishes of health and prosperity to each and every one present! The Junior Youth and Kindergruppe members provided the entertainment with dance performances, singing, music, as well as poems in German and English. Special thanks to Anna Koenig for helping to plan the Christmas Program and for her tireless work in teaching the songs and lessons in German. Fred Leipold, also with heartfelt thanks, for his dedication and many hours of playing the accordion with the groups. This program was the final performance for ten of the older Junior Youth members, as they will move to the Youth Group.
Near the end of the program, was the time to light the blue candle in special tribute to our heritage. Once lit and the lights dimmed, all those present sang Silent Night, in German and English.
The Junior Youth members delivered overflowing trays of cookies to each table for all to enjoy!
Of course, Santa was the final big attraction as he entered the hall to a large gathering of children. Santa presented each child, from the youngest to older children, with a present and candies. This was the perfect time to take pictures!
Speaking of pictures, special thanks to David Hall for taking all of the pictures of this event. High resolution print quality pictures can be found at Christmas Pictures
