Fröhliche Ostern...."Happy Easter"...from the Akron German Family Society

The Akron German Family Society wishes you a very happy and Blessed Easter.
May the colors of this season, as seen in the Easter tree below, bring you much joy as you spend time with your family and friends.
Easter Well (Osterbrunnen) in Bad Wörishofen, as seen on the German Culture Facebook page.
Spend quality time with your family as you decorate Easter Eggs.

Here's how to color Easter Eggs....
Fill a large pan with water and let it boil. Peel the onions and put the peels into the boiling water.
Let it simmer for about half an hour till the water is very dark.
Let the water cool without extracting the peels.
Take fresh eggs and put each into a fine net.
Fix the net around the egg firmly with a thread.
Boil the eggs in the onion-peel brew for about 10 min.
Take the eggs out of the water.
Remove the net.
Cool the eggs.
Serve on a large dish.

Homemade Sausage "Order now" ......Akron German Family Society

Place your sausage orders now!

The Jugendgruppe (Youth Group) sausage sale is going on now. The Youth Group will come together in just a few weeks to mix, add spices, and stuff thousands of pounds of sausage. Many say, "It's the best homemade German sausage in the area!" I agree!!

Steve and Carri Sensius, Youth Group leaders, head up the sausage making from beginning to end. From the time the pork is delivered, to the time the sausage is precisely weighed and packaged in freezer paper, Steve and Carri are working right beside the Youth Group members. Together, they make an outstanding team!
Steve shared, "This is the most organic, low-fat, all natural sausage you'll ever find. I know because it's made from scratch!!! Please let me know if you want to place an order. You may choose from hot or regular, bulk or in the casing. Price is $4.50 per pound, it's sold in 3 pound packs. Please, help our teens get to Europe next year. Thanks in advance!"

In addition to making regular sausage, a recipe of a "hot" sausage option has been requested and is now becoming equally popular. You may now purchase the homemade regular or hot sausage in "bulk" or without the casing. The sausage is made of 100% fresh ground pork and spices and no preservatives are added.

Please, order your sausage from one of GFS Youth Group members. For those of you that don't know a Youth Group member, please call and place your order with Steve or Carri Sensius at 330-899-9848. The below order sheet has more information and details. 100% of proceeds benefit the Youth Group and their expenses.

Orders are being taken until Sunday March 29th and asked to be picked up at the German Family Society on Sunday April 12th between 4-7pm. The regular or hot sausage is sold in 3 lb packages of either linked casing or bulk. The cost is $4.50/lb or $13.50 per package.

And in this, we experience a dimension and a side of our members that is truly what brings "Families" to the Akron German Family Society.
