Vienna Night 2015 at Akron German Family Society

Vienna Night was celebrated at the Akron German Family Society by a packed house. The evening began with a heartfelt welcome by our club's president, Rudy Stagl. The Youth Group, led by Steve and Carri Sensius, performed flawlessly with perfect Viennese Waltzes, namely the Skater's Waltz, Minuet, Anen Polka, Vienna Life, and Edelweiss.

Sentiments of an age long ago, whereby couples danced with pride and perfection was seen throughout the dances. Present in the club were many who were raised in Austria and Germany, and who knew the Vienna Waltzes from their childhood. Yes, there were feelings of chills and great pride in our Youth Group as they not only danced beautifully, but sang Edelweiss for the crowd’s enjoyment.

Fred Ziwich and his band kept the dance floor filled with dancers of all ages. The kitchen crew was as consistent as ever with a deliciously homemade meal and desserts.

Please, see the below pictures taken by David Hall, our club photographer. Videos to be posted soon. Thank you David! (Higher print quality pictures)
